Whether we'd like to admit it or not, there are three theories when it comes to climate change. One, climate change is real we are destroying ourselves by burning fossil fuels and the like. Two, climate change is real but it is naturally occuring. Or three, climate change is not real (climate change deniers). One of the three is more widely accepted than the others, but on our conclusion show on climate change we break down all three and why they each may or may not be correct. Spoiler alert-we conclude nothing in Grognostics fashion but we certainly explore everything. And everywhere. And I mean everywhere. We might even be watching you right now. You. As in if you were a polar bear. We are watching you white fluff ball you. Give a listen and enjoy. Happy Holidays.

If you've read any news in the last decade and/or simply walked outside you've noticed things are changing with our climate. However, is the media giving us all the correct information and is the climate actually changing? Many would say yes. Others say no. And others just want to drink beer and listen to awesome podcasts like this one. Which one are you? On the first part of our two-part series we discuss what climate change is and give you an introduction to the theories of what is actually happening as well as dazzle you with a holiday-themed skit you're sure to forget or at least call your therapist about very soon. Enjoy.

Check back for part 2 very soon.

On today’s show we sit down with Dr. Lindsay Weisner to talk about all things brain and answer the questions you’ve always wondered. Do we really only use 10% of our brains? When do men's brain neurons actually connect? 10? 20? 30? Ever? What are some wild but true neurological anomalies she’s come across in her career? How many bitchy PTA parents are typically in a PTA group? How many times can a clinical psychologist swear tastefully? These questions and more...

About the Guest

She graduated from Georgetown University in 1999 and was awarded a fellowship in child development at the NIH/NICHD. She received her doctorate from C.W. Post, LIU, and went on to pursue post-doctorate training at the American Institute of Psychoanalysis.

Dr. Weisner is an expert blogger for Psychology Today, The Venn Diagram Life: Where Sense and Science meet and the co-author of the book Ten Steps To Finding Happy, which ironically was released during the first week of quarantine with the support and endorsement of the United Nation’s International Day of Happiness.

WIth the recent invasion of Ukraine by the Russians, it poses questions about what happens above our blue planet. While us humans (naming no names) are making terrible decisions to inflict misery upon our fellow man (and woman) science, space, and the advancement of humanity is still going on in our sky.  Enter stage left, right, center - the International Space Station. Originally launched in 1998 and supported by five participating space agencies from around the globe it has been pivotal in the advancement of space exploration. However what happens when what we do on earth threatens what we're doing in space? Tune in this episode as we explore for ourselves while we of course drink some good beer in the name of advancing humanity inside our own podcast recording studio (or un-advance).

Well, there are shows where they are a blast to record but embarrassing to post. This is one of those shows. Come listen to hear Steve's best moments on this planet and learn about a founding father you've never heard of before (one of those is true). He'll also regale you about a story explaining what was the actual cause leading to world war II you've also never heard. What's that Timothy? Two American stories on the 4th of July you've never heard before? Yep. And this isn't one of those fictional, nonsensical Grognostic stories - disclaimer - this is actually 100% true history. (Feel like we have to note when we're being serious) however, they are not conveyed in the most intelligent, sober, concise manner a real historian might. But they are conveyed by a person who is alive... barely...

Happy 4th All.

Did humans evolve naturally? Maybe. Did humans evolve spiritually? Possibly. Did humans evolve a third way? Perhaps. Author Tim Kelly joins us on today’s show to shed some light on what he believes is a hidden history of humanity. We talk about ancient, lost technologies, the pyramids, Lemuria, Atlantis, aliens of course, and what the true building blocks of our DNA is. It’s a fun conversation, so put on your open-mind hat and turn on that internal imagination machine and let’s go!

St. Patrick's Day may be behind us, but that doesn't mean we can't still drink like the Irish do. On this beer show we break down the red ale and discuss what makes it a red tasty treat as well as the difference between American Reds vs. English vs. the classic Irish Red. Tam joins us with snipets from his 15-pint drinking session and our resident beer "when it comes to red ales I'm definitely not an expert" expert Oisin.

Beers tried on show:

Smithwicks Irish Red - Ireland

Coronado Island Brewing Mermaid Red - California, USA

Williams Brothers Premium Red Ale - Scotland

Western Herd Atlantic Irish Red Ale - Ireland

St. Peter's Ruby Red - England

Evans Brewery The Joaquin Dead Mexican Red Ale - California, USA

Wicklow Wolf Brewing Company - Wildfire Red Ale - Ireland

Whitstable Bay Ruby Ale Shepherd Neame Brewery - England

About an hour outside of Dublin in the heart of Ireland sits a farm that has been family-owned for 13 generations. At first look, this farm looks and feels like any other - mixed farm, with woodland, grass for livestock,  fields of crops etc. And, it is true that owner David Walsh-Kemmis puts on his farming overalls one pant leg at a time just like every other farmer but there's one glaring difference; when he puts on those pants, he then goes out and grows award-winning barley which in turn he uses to brew some of the best emerging craft brews in Ireland. (And I'll be honest the farm looks pretty amazing too but it didn't work with that long-winded joke about a pant leg)

The Ballykilcavan Brewery located in Stradbally, in County Loais, should be circled on every tourist's itinerary map. (They do amazing tours by the way). Most of the beer ingredients are sourced right on the farm including water from their own well, hops from their own garden,  and did we mention their award-winning barley? We'll mention it again. For those who don't know barley is pretty much the main ingredient in that cold, refreshing beverage you're probably drinking right now - beer.

On today's show we get the fortunate opportunity to sit down with David to talk about the history of the brewery, their beers, what the craft beer scene is like in Ireland as well as a pot filled with gold nuggets of information about everything beer-related on this fine St. Patrick's Day. And don't just take his word for you - the brewery was named the most innovative business of the year in Co. Laois in 2019 and their beers have won six medals in the 2019 Dublin Craft Beer Cup. So, saddle up lad and grab a pint or two and join us for a lovely interview with Ballykilcavan Brewery owner, David Walsh-Kemmis.

Over 200 government officials from multiple countries have experienced strange symptoms such as ringing in ears, dizziness, nausea, insomnia and other ailments while abroad. Despite investigations by multiple U.S. agencies, no one can figure out the cause of these oddities. The U.S. has recently acknowledged this as a known ailment and even promised to provide healthcare to victims but we are no closer to discovering what is behind this phenomenon.  And then there's Grognostics podcast, rip roarin' into this topic like no one ever has finally back in the saddle after a long hiatus. Enjoy.
